I’m Mariana, an American from the USA now living in Warsaw, Poland teaching English as a foreign language.  I moved to Poland in September 2016 to teach English. I am a TEFL certified English teacher (120 hrs),  speech-language pathologist/speech therapist/logopeda, certified COMPTON PESL Accent Modification specialist, Certified Aromatherapist, and a Certified Health Coach with a passion for health and wellness.

I graduated from Arizona State University in 2002 with my B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences with the highest honors Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA, and then in 2004 with my M.S. in Communication Disorders with a 3.67 GPA, and where I earned a clinical achievement award for outstanding clinical performance with both children and adults.  Arizona State University’s program ranked in the top 15 speech pathology programs in the country at the time of attendance by U.S. News and World Reports.

I have worked as a speech pathologist for about 12 years.  I worked in school districts in Arizona and Idaho, nursing homes, and I really enjoyed working in acute inpatient hospital settings for 6 years specializing in dysphagia and even belonging to the Dysphagia Research Society one year and going to their international convention which was an amazing experience for those who love research and science such as myself.

I worked in the Caldwell School District for the 2012-2013 school year in Caldwell, Idaho, after just having moved to Idaho in August 2012 (I had lived in Arizona for 16 years), and then I started my private practice, SaluGea Therapies, working with children with speech and language delays for 3 years and specializing in bilingual issues and Central Auditory Processing Disorders.

I am state licensed to practice speech therapy/logopedia in Idaho, Arizona and Texas and I am nationally certified in the USA by ASHA.

I offer the 13-week COMPTON PESL Accent Modification services to businesses and individuals all over the world.

In my spare time, I enjoy advocating for human rights issues as an activist and I volunteer my time for human rights non-profit organizations.
